The End of Time Part 2 Review/Summary

Well, that just blew my mind. What a perfect send off for the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant.

Firstly, we had Rassilon! Albeit in a different form. He is perhaps the single greatest figure in Timelord history. Twisted by the war, he was determined to preserve the Time Lords - at the expense of the rest of creation!

But our hearts sank when we realised the prophesied four knocks were Wilfred, signally the Doctor's death. He sacrificed his life to save Wilf from the radiation belt.

And companions. The beautiful end sequence gave us a chance to see Martha and Mickey (now married!), Donna getting married (again) who is now a millionaire thanks to the Doctor and Captain Jack getting to know Midship Frame. He also went to see Verity Newman, daughter of Joan Redfurn, who the Doctor fell in love with when he was human in Human Nature/The Family of Blood. And of course the Doctor returned to see Rose Tyler on the first day of 2005, only a few months before she would meet the Ninth Doctor. In a beautiful sequence between to two, the Doctor, partially hidden in shadow, told her that 2005 would be a good year for her. And how he was right...

And of course aliens! Lots of aliens! From the cactus-like Vinvocci, to a Sontaran, and a bar full of them including a Slitheen, a Graske, several Hath, an Adipose with a beer belly and more! The last we may get to see of many of them!

But it also left us with a few questions. What happened to Martha's engagement to Tom Milligan? What was the significance of that Woman? It seemed like she may be the Mother of one certain Doctor...

And then the regeneration. The TARDIS exploded around the Doctor as we got to see the biggest regeneration ever to be on our screens. A real send off to a Doctor that has touched so many. I'm sure many of you shall cry yourself to sleep tonight.

TWO Rating: 5/5 Stars

And so a new Doctor is born. One with legs, arms, hands, fingers, eyes, a nose, ears and long girlish hair. Bring on 2010!

Chandra.
